Industrial touch screens generally use G+G structure with the advantages of high accuracy, good light transmission, excellent performance in handwriting effect, and alterable cover shape. The process of customizing and opening mold for touch screens can be summarized as the following main steps:
Customizing mold is divided into three parts: glass sensor, FPC and cover glass
>>Designing mold structure
We need to determine the mold structure and size according to the design requirements of a touch screen. The mold structure includes the parts and components, the classification of type, the cooling system, etc.
>>Making mold structure
We make each part of the mold components by using processing equipment according to the mold design drawings. The process of making the mold is processing, fitter, electric spark and other processes.
>>Assembling the mold
We assemble all parts of the mold into a complete mold structure. In the process of assembling, we must debug and test all parts to ensure the quality and stability of the mold.
>>Debugging the mold
After assembling the mold, we must debug the mold. The debugging includes the typing, the cooling system, the perusing of the parts, etc. Through debugging, we can not only ensure that the mold can work properly, but also find and solve some problems.
>>Sample production
We start to produce touch screen samples after debugging the mold. During the sample production, we must pay strict attention to the quality control of each step to ensure the high quality and stability of touch screens.
For the same size of TFT LCD module, the glass sensor of touch screen can be shared. We can save cost by using the same mold.
About FPC, if customers want to change FPC length and shape, we can also custom FPC mold. Cover glass is high strength and good light transmission with toughened glass. Customers can put forward their own products to request customizing molds: opening hole, screen printing, bending (high technical requirements), etc.
Customers make design drawings of cover glass according to their own product requirements, and then the factory will open the mold after the factory confirmation and the customer sign back. Generally speaking, it takes 10-15 days for us to open the mold of a cover glass. and about 3-4 weeks of FPC and sensor.
The above is the main steps of opening mold for a touch screen. Of course, there may be some subtle difference between different manufacturers and different products.
