Four types of LVDS interface in TFT LCD

Date:2023-10-19

The LVDS interface in the LCD screen is a common communication interface. The full name is Low Voltage Differential Signaling. It is a low -voltage differential signal technology interface. It is a digital video signal transmission method developed by the US NS Corporation (National Semiconductor Corporation) to overcome the disadvantages of high power consumption and large EMI electromagnetic interference when transmitting broadband high -code rate data by TTL level.

The LVDS output interface uses a very low voltage swing (about 350mv) on the two PCB wiring or a pair of balanced cables to transmit data through differential data, that is, the low -voltage differential signal transmission. Using the LVDS output interface, the signal can be transmitted at a rate of hundreds of mbit/s on the differential PCB line or balanced cable. Due to the use of low -voltage and low -current driving, low noise and low power consumption are achieved. At present, the LVDS output interface has been widely used in LCD display of 17 inches and above.

LVDS output interface is also divided into the following four types:

  (1) Single -road 6 -digit LVDS output interface

In this interface circuit, one -way transmission is used. Each base color signal uses 6 digits of data and a total of 18 -bit RGB data. Therefore, it is also called 18 -bit or 18bitlvds interface.

  (2) Double Road 6 -bit LVDS output interface

In this interface circuit, dual -road transmission is used. Each base color signal uses 6 digits of data, of which the data of odd Road is 18 bits, and the even road is 18 bits, a total of 36 -bit RGB data. it is also called 36 -bit or 36 bit LVDS interface.

  (3) One -way 8 -bit 1TL output interface

In this interface circuit, a single -way transmission is used. Each base color signal uses 8 -bit data and a total of 24 -bit RGB data. Therefore, it is also called 24 -bit or 24bit LVDS interface.

Dual 8 -bit 1TL output position interface

In this interface circuit, dual -road transmission is used. Each base color signal uses 8 -bit data. Among them, the data of odd Road is 24 -bit, and the data of the even road is 24 -bit, and a total of 48 -bit RGB data. Therefore it is also called 48 -bit or 48 bit LVDS interface.
