The difference between G+G and G+P

Date:2024-03-22

There are three main differences between G+G and G+P:

  1. Application field: G+G is usually used for small devices, such as smartwatches and mobile devices. G+P is more commonly used for large devices, such as televisions and desktop displays.

     2. Structure and Technology: G+G represents "Glass to Glass", which is the combination of surface tempered glass and glass material touch screen. This structure gives G+G capacitive screens the advantages of hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high light transmittance, smooth handling, and high reliability. And G+P represents "Glass to Panel", which is the combination of surface tempered glass and PC material touch screen. In G+P packaging, the display module is pasted onto the back of the panel and connected to the controller of the panel through circuit connectors. This technology makes G+P capacitive screens cost-effective and easy to process, but relatively speaking, their wear resistance, corrosion resistance, light transmittance, and handling feel may not be as good as G+G.

  3. Packaging technology: G+G is a packaging technology used to stick two glass sheets together to form a sealed space. In G+G packaging, the circuit board and other electronic components of the display are usually integrated under the glass sheet. G+P is a packaging technology that combines display modules with panels.

In summary, there are significant differences between G+G and G+P in terms of application, structure and technology, as well as packaging technology. The specific choice of technology depends on the actual application requirements and device characteristics.
