Where are the components of LCD screens prone to damage?

Date:2024-06-12

 1 Which components of LCD display screens are prone to damage

        Although the structure of LCD screens is relatively complex, some components have a long service life, while others have a relatively short lifespan and a high vulnerability rate. If a display malfunctions, the first step is to inspect these components and determine which part is damaged based on the feedback from the display.

For example, display light sources, high-voltage boards, lighting fixtures, built-in power supplies, driver boards, motherboard chips, backlight boards, polarizers, data cables, and other components are all vulnerable parts. Once one of these components fails, the display will not function properly;

2 Diagnostic display failure methods

       There are many diagnostic methods for displaying faults, and the feedback issues for each part of the fault are different. This needs to be identified through experience and daily technical accumulation.

        For example, if the light source does not light up, it is caused by a problem with the high-voltage board, and the display shows flashing or no flashing. This situation may also be caused by the aging or damage of the lamp tube, which can only be solved by replacing the light source or the high-voltage board.

       If the data cable is damaged and there is a malfunction in the internal circuit of the monitor, it will result in unclear color and even no signal transmission. Moreover, replacing the circuit at this time can restore the display.

      If there is a damaged driver board, the monitor cannot start up normally. Even if it can be turned on, the monitor will not display images. This problem is caused by a damaged motherboard inside the monitor, which is the most difficult to repair and has high maintenance costs.

 In addition to the above-mentioned faults, such as data cable faults, circuit board faults, built-in power supply faults, etc., all need to be determined through some professional tests. Try to find a professional technician to help with inspection to avoid secondary damage caused by personal repairs.
