Flat wires in electrical equipment can be divided into two types: "same surface" and "different surface" according to the positional relationship between the reinforcing plate and the gold finger. The following is the difference between flat lines with the same surface and different surfaces:
1.Co-planar flat wire: refers to that the reinforcing plates and gold fingers at both ends are located on the same side of the
flat wire. This type of flat cable is often called Type A cable. Structurally, the reinforcing plates and gold fingers at both ends
of the flat cable are arranged in parallel, making it easy to insert into the same slot of the connector.
2. Different-surface flat wire: refers to that the reinforcing plates and gold fingers at both ends are located on different sides
of the flat wire. This type of flat cable is often called a B-type cable. When the connector is inserted into the different-faced
flat wire, one end is a gold finger and the other end is a reinforcing plate, which is suitable for different installation needs.
When selecting a flat cable, you need to determine whether to use same-face or different-face flat cables based on the type
of connector and installation requirements. The choice of co-planar and out-of-surface flat wires affects their suitability and
installation methods in electronic devices.
In addition, flat wires are used in different situations. For example, due to its structural characteristics, co-planar flat wires are
suitable for parts that need to be bent or moved frequently, such as moving parts in office equipment such as printers, copiers,
and scanners. On the other hand, out-of-plane flat wires may be more suitable for applications with limited space or special
installation requirements.
When making the FFC cable specification sheet, you need to confirm the direction of the golden finger of the cable, that is,
whether it is on the same side (the reinforcing plates at both ends are on the same side) or on the opposite side (the
reinforcing plates at both ends are on the opposite side). This is to ensure the connection. One of the key details of device
matching.
